We were in the garage the first time that you saw me after what you did.
You'd been texting me, saying things I should have noticed were different.
You were with your friend... I wonder if she knew what was going on.
I wonder what she thought, watching my hands on your waist,
and your arms 'round my neck...
but I will never know.
You asked me to make love to you more than once later on that night.
You'd tell me in the future you asked because you knew that it would be our last...
but I was far too tired, so I drove us home to sleep in your bed.
You laid awake that night while I was sound asleep.
What was going through your head?
I will never know.
When I woke at 6, you asked me for a walk. I said it was too early,
so finally that was when you told me that you had to tell me something.
As the words spilled out, I remember hiding underneath the sheets...
After I left, I wonder... while I was driving home, what went on inside your room?
But I will never know.
That bonfire smell of smoke that lingers on my clothes will always make me sick.
I will never know the truth; what transpired on that day, what went on inside his house...
I will never know.

I pray lord, show me peace in the people I meet.
Let them greet me and seat me and show me a feast.
Have them wash my feet and birth to my every need.
Let me have what you had, only eternally.
He said:
Tell me mortal, what do you carry?
I said:
Various trinkets won victoriously.
He said:
Now son of Adam, why don't you see?
That you have much a better consciousness than me.
For I know all of the things which noones ever known.
Hell, I know of your cradle and know of your bones.
And I swear that I will set all things free,
If at the end of your days you recite my creed.
'Cause at the end of your days, it's all I need,
And at the end of your days, it's all I see.
Recite my creed.
It’s all I need,
You’re all I see,
You’re all I breathe,
You’re all I bleed,
You are my steed,
With you I plead,
Recite my creed.
and I said:
Lord, I love you...
but we'll see.

Eve and Her Eden
03:03
|
|

If a troubled mind is the heaviest burden
the devil gods could conjure,
Why O then ironic fate
did the heavens give me wonder?
Why are my chains so thick and strong
while she has new life to believe in?
My troubled mind is left alone
with its "eve" in an orchard of Eden.
Well, everything is perfect in "heaven" 'til it rains.
Then, what's left of the clouds beneath your feet?
Ten months to the day and you were
the muse that I had lived and had learned.
Now ten months away and again I'm afraid that
misery, my true muse, has returned.

Lone Dove

From the lone dove comes the hardest laugher
and a hymn script carved in stone
To teach us mortals of life here-after
and of empires overthrown.
From the dead king comes the crimson hour
and the covenant of all,
Sending sinners to devil's tower
built of bloodstone, hard and tall.
From the madman comes the scattered wisdom
that the masses won't believe,
When he speaks of his untimely vision
and what stirs the angry seas.
From the shipwreck comes the tallest tale
and a wonder built on lies
that makes young men want to flee and set sail
and conquer the siren's cries.
But the sirens were not of this world,
thus, they were never found.
And the young men never met the young girls
and were buried lone doves in the ground.
And from the lone dove comes the hardest laughter
and a hymn script carved in stone
To teach us mortals of life here-after
and of empires overthrown.
